How to use DayMeld

Plan fixed times, let flexi tasks fit around them, and use alarms for must-not-miss moments.

Start with the quick setup. Come back to the deeper guides when you need repeats, shared calendars, app alerts, or recovery help.

Quick start

Set up a useful calendar in five minutes

1

Sign in and stay signed in

On your own phone or computer, leave Keep me signed in ticked. Use account recovery if you are not sure which email you used.

2

Pick or add a calendar

Use the calendar picker at the top. Add another calendar when you want separate colours, sharing, or a cleaner view.

3

Set your availability

Open Settings, then Schedule. Add the normal hours where flexi tasks are allowed to land.

4

Add fixed times first

Create appointments, care routines, school runs, work shifts, and anything else that must happen at a set time.

5

Add flexi tasks second

Create moveable tasks with a duration. DayMeld places them in your available gaps and keeps the queue in order.

6

Use alarms carefully

Use Alarm for must-not-miss reminders that need exact timing, stronger alerting, and snooze or done controls. In the installed Android app, check Settings then App Settings and run a test alert.

Choose the right type

Fixed, Flexi, or Alarm

Fixed

Use this when the time is known: appointments, meetings, routines, shifts, calls, care tasks, and booked travel.

How it behaves
  • Needs a start and end time.
  • Can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
  • Can have notification, alarm, or email reminders.

Flexi

Use this when the job matters, but the exact time can move: chores, admin, study, exercise, errands, follow-ups.

How it behaves
  • Needs a title and duration.
  • Uses your availability and blocked dates.
  • Can be reordered, started, completed, or pinned into a fixed slot.

Alarm

Use this for a specific time that needs active attention from the installed app, especially on Android.

How it behaves
  • Saves as a short fixed entry.
  • Adds an alarm reminder at the start time.
  • Android snooze options are 5, 10, 20, 40, and 60 minutes.

Step by step

Common jobs, in plain English

Add a fixed appointment
  1. Tap the plus button.
  2. Choose Add Entry, then Fixed.
  3. Enter the title, duration, start time, and end time.
  4. Open Repeat only if this should happen again.
  5. Add reminders only when you want an alert.
  6. Tap Create entry.
Create a care routine alarm
  1. Tap the plus button.
  2. Choose Add Entry, then Alarm.
  3. Enter a clear title for the routine or task.
  4. Set the exact time and save it.
  5. If the app says reminder setup needs attention, follow that warning before relying on the alarm.
  6. In the Android app, open Settings, then App Settings, and run a test alert after installing or updating.
Add a flexi task
  1. Set your availability first in Settings, then Schedule.
  2. Tap the plus button.
  3. Choose Add Entry, then Flexi.
  4. Add a title and duration. You do not need to pick a time.
  5. Save it. DayMeld places it into the next suitable available gap.
  6. Open Flex to reorder the queue when one task matters more than another.
Use the Flex Queue properly
  1. Open the Flex tab.
  2. Drag tasks to change priority. Higher tasks are planned first.
  3. Tap Start when you actually begin. DayMeld does not start tasks for you.
  4. Tap Complete when done. Completion is also manual.
  5. If a task runs over, DayMeld keeps it in progress and moves later flexi tasks forward.
Block holidays or unavailable days
  1. Open Settings, then Schedule.
  2. Use Availability for normal weekly hours.
  3. Use Unavailable for one-off days, monthly dates, or yearly dates.
  4. Save changes. Flexi tasks will avoid those blocked dates; fixed entries stay where you put them.
Share a calendar
  1. Open Settings, then Calendars.
  2. Select the calendar you want to share.
  3. Enter the other user's email address.
  4. Choose View only or Full control.
  5. Share one calendar at a time. Repeat for other calendars if needed.
Recover your account
  1. If you know the email, use Forgot password from the login screen.
  2. If you are not sure, use Forgot email? and enter the emails you can check.
  3. DayMeld sends reset links to any matching inboxes without saying which emails matched.
  4. Open the reset link, set a new password, and leave Keep me signed in ticked on your own device.

Advanced guide

When you want more control

Combined view

Turn on Show all calendars to layer calendars together. Overlaps can appear here because they may belong to different calendars.

Planning slots

Slot size lives in Settings, then Account. It guides the planning grid and flexi-task auto-placement; fixed entries and alarms can use any exact minute.

Repeats

Fixed and flexi entries can repeat. For fixed repeats, edits can apply to one entry or the whole repeating event.

Pin a flexi task

In Day view, drag a flexi task into a time slot to turn it into a fixed entry, as long as it does not overlap another entry in that calendar.

Installed app alerts

App Settings controls phone notifications, vibration, torch, and sound where supported. Alarm reminders are synced to the Android app.

Clean refresh

Use Reload app from the app menu when the page looks stale. It refreshes app files without intentionally deleting login data.

Fix problems

Quick checks before you get stuck

Flexi tasks are not appearing

  • Check Settings, then Schedule, and add availability.
  • Make sure the duration is at least one minute and fits inside your available time.
  • Check the right calendar is selected.

Alarm reminders need attention

  • Use the installed Android app for alarm-style phone alerts.
  • Allow notification and alarm permissions when asked.
  • Open Settings, then App Settings, and run a test alert.

You keep getting logged out

  • Use your normal browser or installed app, not private browsing.
  • Leave Keep me signed in ticked on trusted devices.
  • Use Forgot password or Forgot email? if you cannot get back in.
